Bella update

Here are some new pictures of Bella and Samson. They stayed with my parents while Preston and I were in Destin and they had a blast! Bella loved playing with Maddux and JJ, my parents' 2 dogs. Unfortunately we think she now thinks that she is a Lhasa Apso herself, since that's all she's hung out with, so we are trying to get her some "big dog" exposure soon! Also, there is a new link on the right side of our blog under Josie's picture that allows access to a memory book I created in her honor.

Snoozing away

Samson thought he'd try it out too  :)

Apparently she loved to sit on the bottom of this plant stand

She also really liked the treadmill

Snuggling up to Maddux, her new best friend

At 11 weeks, she is now the same size and weight as Samson

She likes to lie under the baker's rack...won't be able to much longer

Meet Bella...our newest family member!

After we lost Josie, we both said we didn't want to get another dog for a long time, and when we did get one, it would not be another cream Lab. However, we were recently presented with the opportunity get Josie's half-sister - the last one there would ever be. We found out that Josie's sweet dad, Nevada, was 10 years old now and was never going to be bred again. The last time he was bred the mother had 1 solitary puppy, and that 1 puppy was sold. However, at the last minute, the buyer was not be able to take the puppy afterall and she was available again. We figured this situation was put before us for a reason. After a few days of thinking it over, we realized that no matter how long we waited to get another dog, it would never, ever be able to "replace" Josie. It didn't matter if it was years from now, nothing would affect Josie and the place she has in our hearts. And to be able to have Josie's little half-sister felt very comforting to us (plus once we get a baby there's no way we could handle a puppy too)... So meet Bella! She is almost 10 weeks old. She looks like she is going to be bigger and stockier than Josie. And she is already proving to be much more mischievous! You literally cannot take your eyes off her without her getting into some trouble. She wakes us up in the middle of the night barking, not because she needs to go out, but because she wants to play!!! Although Samson did not like her at all at first, he is slowing warming up to her, and she adores him!

Being an only child...she clearly got all the milk she wanted! Look at that fat belly!

She loves to sleep in the dirty laundry pile

More napping in the dirty clothes

We're using Samson as a growth chart. Bella is 8 weeks old here.

Here she is displaying her mischievous side. She loves to grab the toilet paper off the roll and drag it around.

Exhausted after all her trouble-making! Look at those huge little paws!

Cancun Vacation

We just returned from our Cancun vacation. Thanks to Preston's mom and stepdad letting us use their timeshare at the Omni, this was our 3rd time to visit there and we love it. It's always SO relaxing and rejuvenating! We get caught up on sleep, have lots of time to read lying by the ocean, and eat lots of delicious food. We also get refreshed on our Spanish, which is always fun. Not to mention the fun daily activities at the pool, like ping-pong and trivia. We won a "movie music" trivia game one day and received a cool t-shirt as our prize.

The crystal clear blue turquoise waters of Cancun. A view we never get tired of!

Us at our favorite breakfast place, right on the beach, named Pina Colada. It's so peaceful every morning, and delicious :)

A Mexican themed party one night at the resort, with classic Mexican dancers

Angela doing "aqua aerobics" (everyday at noon!)

Us on our wonderful yacht tour (we won in a raffle the day we arrived)...we rode for 2 hrs through the lagoon at sunset to the ocean and back

A view of the moonlit Cancun horizon from our yacht

As we were getting off the yacht, we saw this aligator trying to get a cat!

More Cancun wildlife... we see this guy at the resort every time we go. He loves pineapple!  :)
